Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Introduction
VPNeo ("we," "our," or "the App") is a VPN client application for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use VPNeo. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
2. What VPNeo Is
VPNeo is a client-only application. It does not operate, manage, or provide VPN servers or services. The App allows you to connect to VPN servers using your own configuration. We have no access to, control over, or visibility into the servers you choose to connect to.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
We want to be explicit about what we do not do:
- We do not log your VPN traffic or browsing activity.
- We do not record your connection timestamps.
- We do not track the websites you visit or the content you access.
- We do not store your IP address on our servers.
- We do not monitor your bandwidth usage.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any personal data with third parties.
4. Information We Collect
We collect minimal data strictly necessary for app functionality:
- Device type and OS version: Collected automatically by Apple for crash reports through App Store Connect. This helps us diagnose and fix technical issues.
- App crash and performance data: Standard crash logs provided by Apple's crash reporting service.
No personal identifiers (name, email, phone number) are required to use the App.
5. Local Data Storage
VPNeo stores data locally on your device for app functionality:
- Server configurations: Your VPN server settings are stored securely on your device.
- Speed test results: Built-in speed test measurements (ping, download, upload) are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
- App preferences: Your settings and preferences are stored locally.
- App Groups: VPNeo uses Apple's App Groups feature to share necessary data between the main app and the VPN tunnel extension. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted externally.
6. Third-Party Services
VPNeo interacts with the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store: Distribution, purchase processing, and standard App Store analytics.
- Apple Crash Reporting: Automatic crash reports through Apple's infrastructure to help improve app stability.
We do not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking tools.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect data stored on your device:
- Server configurations are stored using secure local storage mechanisms.
- The App leverages iOS built-in security features including the Keychain and App Sandbox.
- Network Extension framework provides system-level VPN tunnel security.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: You may request information about what data we hold.
- Right to Rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure: You may request deletion of your data.
- Right to Data Portability: You may request your data in a portable format.
- Right to Object: You may object to certain types of data processing.
Since VPNeo stores data locally on your device and we do not maintain user accounts or databases, you can exercise these rights by simply deleting the App, which removes all locally stored data.
9. CCPA Compliance
If you are a California resident, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) you have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected about you.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Opt out of the sale of personal information.
VPNeo does not sell personal information. Since all data is stored locally on your device, deleting the App removes all associated data.
10. Children's Privacy
VPNeo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
